Trump Administration: The U.S. State Department has issued a warning that students who violate American laws will face serious consequences.
Many individuals, including Indian nationals who have illegally immigrated to the United States, are currently being deported. Addressing this issue, U.S. State Department spokesperson Margaret MacLeod spoke to the Press Trust of India (PTI) yesterday.
She stated that those who follow U.S. laws are offered opportunities in America. However, individuals involved in legal violations—such as participating in pro-Palestinian protests and other unlawful activities—are being deported. Those who intend to defy U.S. laws may face severe repercussions.

She urged relatives of Indian families and friends who are residing illegally in the U.S. to come forward voluntarily and return to their home countries. “There is still an opportunity to return to your homeland,” she said. “We hope that those who entered the U.S. illegally will come forward and leave voluntarily to avoid strict enforcement actions.”
Speaking further on this matter, Indian Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal told reporters that reports have surfaced regarding the cancellation of F1 visas for several Indian students. He stated that the Indian Embassy and the government are in contact with both U.S. authorities and the affected students.
“The U.S. government is very firm in securing its borders. It does not welcome those who violate its laws,” he added.
