Valorant Mobile

The developer of the wildly popular tactical shooter Valorant has confirmed that a mobile version is in the works. Valorant has attracted a dedicated global player base since its PC launch in 2020 thanks to its fast-paced gunplay, agent-based abilities and esports-ready design. Now, Riot is looking to replicate the adrenaline-fueled experience on mobile devices. After a wide variety of leaks and rumors, players are ready to anticipate the release date and features of Valorant Mobile. This is everything we know so far regarding the release date, gameplay and several new leaks.

Valorant Mobile Release Date: When Will It Release?

Currently, Riot Games has not yet revealed any official release date for Valorant Mobile. But according to multiple trusted sources and reports from the industry, a release window for the game is now pegged at late 2025 or early 2026. Since then, Riot has been running internal tests and closed beta phases over some regions of the world, especially in Southeast Asia and China.

The closed beta in China reportedly began in mid-2023 with a codename of “Project C,” and gameplay footage from the beta has made its way online for fans to know what to expect. Taking Riot’s patch schedule and current beta testing into account, it’s safe to say that we should look out for a global beta/soft launch in various regions sometime in the second half of 2025.

Gameplay: How Will Valorant Mobile Play?

For Riot, the real mystery — aside from the general big question on every fan’s mind, of course, which is how exactly it will adapt Valorant’s strategic, team-based gameplay to mobile platforms — is how to bring that experience to people on a group of smaller screens. The original PC version lives and dies by precision shooting, quick reflexes and careful use of agent abilities — all of which are difficult to replicate on a touchscreen.

From the leaked gameplay footage, it looks like Riot is adopting a even-more hybrid style. The heart of the game is unchanged — players will still take part in 5v5 tactical firefights, planting and defusing spikes and selecting agents with special abilities. That said, the user interface has been optimized for mobile screens. The controls have been optimized for touch, featuring customizable button layouts, auto-fire settings and a reduced HUD to prevent the screen from getting too cluttered.

One of the most exciting revelations is that Valorant Mobile will not be a direct port of the PC version. Instead, it’s being designed from the ground up to feel native on mobile devices. That translates into smoother animations, remapped features slighty adjusted for mobile gameplay, and a matchmaking system optimized for mobile players.

With the early leaks, it seems as if Valorant Mobile will come out with a limited but popular selection of agents with favorites such as Jett, Phoenix, Sova, and Sage being among those playable. More Agents will be added via updates as development continues, similar to how the new content is rolled out on the PC version.

Similar battlegrounds like Bind, Haven and Split could show up in the first map pool, although it’s also pretty likely that Riot will add mobile-exclusive maps that are designed for shorter play sessions and smaller screen sizes.

Cross-Play and Compatibility

A frequently asked question is regarding cross-play support for Valorant Mobile with the PC version. Riot has said that the mobile version of Valorant will provide a different experience from the PC version, implying that cross-play won’t exist to help keep the game fair across various systems. However, Riot could implement cross-progression, allowing players to upload their skins and progress across versions using the same Riot account.

In terms of compatibility, Valorant Mobile is likely to be available on iOS and Android. As the game has a competitive nature with graphics intensive gameplay, it’ll probably work on mid to high-end rig.

Leaks and Rumors and Beta Testing

Riot has been collaborating with third-party developers to support this transition to mobile, as highlighted by various data miners and insiders. Alleged in-game menus, agent select screens, and practice areas have been shared across social media platforms like Twitter and Reddit.

There’s also some speculation that Riot could team up with smartphone makers to get the beta access exclusive to certain devices or to give the betas a promotion at launch, much like how PUBG Mobile was promoted with OnePlus, or Call of Duty: Mobile was put out with Xiaomi.

There are also claims that a beta sign-up page is currently in the works, which will allow players from selected regions to pre-register for early access in the near future. That’s a similar approach Riot has taken with some of its other titles like League of Legends: Wild Rift, which went through regional betas before a global rollout.

Much like it did on PC, Valorant Mobile has the potential to redefine the mobile FPS gaming landscape. Riot Games seem to be putting in the time to make this a true title in its own right rather than just a mobile version, and it shows.

And while we don’t yet have an official release date, the signals point toward an exciting new chapter for those who love Valorant. Regardless of whether you’re a PC veteran or a mobile avid after your next big fix, Valorant Mobile should delivery tactical action and team-based strategy to your fingertips.
